AMD says its open rack blueprint packs up to 32,768 Epyc cores for agent workloads, with partner systems planned for November. It says it will contribute the spec to the Open Compute Project.
AMD has unveiled Helion, an open rack blueprint for AI agent workloads based on an Open Compute Project spec design. AMD says a CPU-only configuration using 6th Gen Epyc processors can hold up to 32,768 cores per rack, and that an all-in-one version combines Epyc CPU nodes with Instinct MI350P GPU nodes. It says partner configurations are planned for November 2026 and that it will contribute the Helion spec to the Open Compute Project. Helion is a new design that AMD says builds on the approach of its Helios rack-scale system. It is a blueprint, not a shipping product, and AMD has given no price, power figure or customer.
