CashAfrica says customers at the Food Concepts-owned chain can now pay by tapping a phone or contactless card on supported POS terminals.

CashAfrica, which provides contactless payment infrastructure, says it has partnered with Chicken Republic, the quick-service chain owned by Food Concepts, to accept mobile tap-to-pay at its outlets. Techpoint and Condia report that the rollout, announced on 13 October, starts at 54 Lagos branches before extending to the rest of the chain’s roughly 350 outlets across 25 states. The deal builds on CashAfrica’s earlier PalmPay POS integration. CashAfrica did not disclose financial terms, expected volumes or how many banks and fintechs use its API, BusinessDay says.
