VOLT says Nebius will lease a “substantial part” of the compute at its planned AI campus in the Port of Rotterdam under a long-term deal. VOLT puts the first phase at EUR 7 billion and hopes to start building in 2028.
VOLT CEO Han de Groot confirmed the deal on 12 Oct. Nebius is leasing the capacity long term, and Techzine says that structure is meant to let banks and funds finance construction and hardware. According to Techzine, about EUR 2.5 billion of the EUR 7 billion first phase would go to buildings and infrastructure and EUR 4.5 billion to chips and equipment. Construction depends on financing, and Techzine reports first capacity in late 2029 or early 2030. De Telegraaf, citing insiders, reported that Nebius could use up to 200 MW. VOLT’s site lists the campus at up to 800 MWe, with Eneco as energy partner. CTN found no Nebius release.
